Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the virtues of family football scholarship with volunteering for the community. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. The family lived on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In second football, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as the team's starter, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In 1975, Selmon was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's diploma from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. After graduation, he moved to Tampa and played for nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. After that, he began his professional career. By 1988, he became an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs in the time he played football at college. The year 1975 was the first time he was on the team. squad. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
